A long lived, slow growing, evergreen tree with attractive, silvery-grey foliage and a grey trunk which becomes dark with age. This beautiful Olive ‘Frantoio’ produces a large number of creamy-white, small flowers during Spring, followed by green fruit which ripen to red or black through summer and autumn.

The plant's ultimate height in typical growing conditions is between 2-8 metres. The ultimate spread in typical growing conditions is between 2-5 metres. Expect to see moderate growth during growing season.
Soil: Moist but Well Drained
An olive tree will be tolerant of a wide range of soil types. Use soil that allows water to drain at a moderate rate, without the water pooling.
Maintenance: Low
Minimal skill or input needed. Little pruning required, only enough to maintain shape. Young olive trees may need to be staked to assist with stability.
Water Requirement: Moderate
An olive tree will be very dry-tolerant once established, and happy with natural rainfall between 500-750mm, provided that most of this falls in winter. Best watering pattern is moderate amounts during winter, small amounts in spring during flower and fruit set, then a dry summer as fruit develop.
Situation: Full Sun
Olive trees will grow best in full sun, although it will grow in some shade. Trees will become more 'leggy' and less dense in heavily shaded areas.
